Arrayent’s Connect IoT Platform enables remote monitoring and control of Thread-connected devices from anywhere in the world
Nuremberg, Germany – February 23, 2016 – Arrayent, the provider of the IoT platform chosen by the world’s most trusted brands, announced that it collaborated with NXP Semiconductors to demonstrate a Thread-enabled device that can be remotely monitored and controlled from anywhere in the world with the support of Arrayent’s Connect IoT platform. Thread is a robust, IP-based, self-healing mesh network designed to securely and reliably connect products around the home. Until now, Thread implementations have focused on in-home, monitor and control environments. The NXP-Arrayent collaboration is the first time a Thread-enabled device has been extended to global range.
The demonstration consists of an NXP Kinetis® 802.15.4 Wireless chip with an ARM Cortex M4 MCU KW2xD board running the Thread protocol and the lightweight Arrayent Connect Agent. The KW2xD board communicates with the Arrayent Connect Cloud and to an Arrayent smart-phone-based Android application that can remotely monitor and control the KW2xD board from anywhere in the world via the Internet. Arrayent and NXP will be demonstrating this collaboration at Embedded World, Nuremberg, Germany in the NXP booth, Hall 4A / 4A-220.
“We’re very excited about our collaboration with NXP to demonstrate remotely monitored and controlled Thread-enabled devices. Our demonstration showcases Arrayent’s ability to easily and quickly connect NXP-powered, Thread-enabled consumer products in a secure, low-cost, and low-latency way,” said Cyril Brignone, CEO, Arrayent.
Arrayent’s Connect Platform enables major consumer brands to transform traditional products into connected devices that make life safer, more convenient and better for users. Companies across the globe choose Arrayent to cost effectively add Internet connectivity to their products and cultivate a closer relationship with their customers. A Thread Alliance member and Gartner Cool Vendor for the IoT space, Arrayent provides connected product capability to leading brands, such as Whirlpool, Pentair, Maytag Commercial Laundry®, Salus, OSRAM, Braeburn, Schumacher, Chamberlain, and LiftMaster, among many others.

ABOUT THE THREAD PROTOCOL
Thread solves reliability, security, power, and compatibility issues in order to help manufacturers and consumers connect products around the home. Thread is a robust, IP-based, self-healing mesh network designed to securely and reliably connect hundreds of products around the home, without blowing through battery life. Thread is secure; in fact, it provides security at the network level and hooks for application layer security. It’s also scalable, and can connect 250+ devices into a single network.
