August 1, 2014
Prodea Systems today announced that the company’s groundbreaking Residential Operating System (ROS) has been selected as a finalist for the CSI Product of the Year Awards in the Best IPTV Technology or Service category. Organized by CSI Magazine, the CSI Awards are designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence in the cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcasting, mobile and IPTV sectors.
“Selection as a finalist for the CSI Awards further validates the potential of the ROS platform worldwide,” said Anousheh Ansari, CEO and Co-Founder of Prodea. “Traditional and non-traditional service providers from around the world have already seen the benefit of ROS in connecting today’s digital home. They are also turning to ROS as an entry point to the Internet of Things, enabling consumers to connect devices and services like never before. ROS is truly providing a connected lifestyle for consumers while also validating Prodea as a leader in making the Internet of Things a reality.”
Prodea is the first company to provide seamless access to the broad range of services comprising the connected home and, ultimately, the emerging Internet of Things. ROS is a managed service delivery platform that enables traditional and emerging service providers worldwide to deliver seamless access between people, services, data and devices in a fashion never before available.
Current ROS deployments span Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the United States via providers including Azerfon, (a quad-play service provider in Azerbaijan); StarNet (a triple-play service provider in Russia); Canal SUR (a Latin American cable network); Fort Capital (Miami-based private real estate investment company); Hillwood (Dallas-based commercial and residential real estate developers); MyHD (a satellite pay-TV provider operating across the Middle East and North Africa); Smart Village/MultiChoice (a multi-service provider operating across Africa); Sterlite (a large communications infrastructure provider in India); and Terra (a fixed and wireless service provider in Italy).
The winners of the CSI Awards will be announced at IBC in Amsterdam on September 12, 2014.
